		<description>They are not considered meat.  They are indeed a protein and similar only in that.  Eggs contain amino acids and is the cheapest and most readily available, quickest to prep, form of protein. 

I have asked why stores market them this way. There is no answer for that and other marketing strategies that don&#039;t seem to make sense.  I think the reasons have become obscured over time.  Like why at receptions do you find cake and nuts...I have supposed that the sweet is countered by the protein in the nuts to keep you from going over the edge with a sugar high...HA!

You also do not want to cross contaminate with blood.  The shells are porous, could absorb foreign liquids and should not come in contact with blood as it can spread bacteria after sitting out.</description>
