No. Water is not needed. Also note that water and oil don’t mix with a heated source and can become a burn or fire hazard.
Yeah you fill it up with water about 3 quarters full and then add about 2 or 3 drops of essential oil. Enjoy!
P.S. My husband tried it with just oil, and it got black really quick and started stinking. The water heats up and helps the oils to evaporate, you don’t want to burn the oil!
yes put the water in first then add a few drops of essential oil, putting the oil in direct will dry out too soon and possibly crack the burner
No water – just put about 5 or 6 drops of the oil and have it in a place that you can see it so you make sure the oil doesn’t run out. It should last quite a while though. You’d be amazed how the smell fills up a room – they are great!
it burns quickly without water, scent spreads very fast but too strong at the same time.. gets over-burned easily.. makes your burner look nasty when the oil is over-burned on it..
i researched after that happened to me a few times and i found out that adding water is recommended by some companies.. to me, the scent smells cleaner and it burns longer.
If you don’t add something to the warmer with the essential oils the essential oil will scorch. I prefer to use a light oil such as grapeseed that won’t compete with your essential oil scent when heated. The oil doesn’t scorch or evaporate like water.
