i am going to do a mini cooking competition – i am going to give groups a set of ingredients and challenge them to make the best/most inventive dishes – we cant use microwaves, ovens etc – ideas for ingredients

Like Iron Chef? I hope you have a lot of money, because to do this correctly you would have to give each team a tremendous amount of foods/spices to allow them to really be creative.
Why not just give them a food type and see what they can create at home? Like best meatloaf, chowder, potato side dish, etc.
