cooking chem project?
in my chemistry class we have an assignment that asks us to cook. i do not like doing anything others do, but i can’t think f what to cook. any ideas?
the catch/criteria: the ingredients must go through a chemical change, and there must be at least 4 ingredients, must be edible (and taste pretty good)
no cookies, brownies, or cakes please! but if you think of anything please list ingredients, small steps on making it, and the chemical change it does go through

One comment a "cooking chem project?"
I would suggest virtually anything based on EGGS. Both the white and the yolk undergo obvious different chemical changes on heating. If you include bacon then that undergoes chemical change in the protein on frying. Milk and cheese also change. So I’d look at a bacon omlette with say fried tomatoes and a few other bits to add flavour eg thin sliced peppers.
That gives you something with at least four ingredients, is pretty simple and smells and tastes good! Find a basic omlette recipe and modify it.
If you want something really simple that fulfills the criteria, try scrambled eggs with bacon on toast … addition chemical change of carbohydrate [starch] on bread surface to carbon and other charred matter.
Good luck! Sure you’ll be popular when the smell of the cooking bacon wafts around!
