cockatiel wont respond to treats?
He’ll eat millet when it is inside his cage most times, but wont take and kind of food from me no matter how tastey it’s supposed to be. The yogurt things dont work, millet won’t work, popcorn doesn’t work. I’ve tried being patient with him and waiting for him to take the food from me, but he just doesn’t seem to be food motivated at all, which is making training impossible.
any suggestions?
he seems to be in good health and eating his food regularily, just not taking any from me.

Sorry but it sounds like is still frightened about approaching you yet. With some birds they just take longer to feel trust in you.
I have 2 budgies, one only took a few weeks to accept food from my hand and the other took a whole 12 months to do so.
Just go back to square one and treat him like the day you first got him IE: Having him feel comfortable in your presence.
How long have you had him? eventually he will take food from you. Just hold him a lot, and take him out of his cage a lot. my cockatiel doesn’t like treats very much, except for millet. He does like sun flower seeds though. And to train him, just take him out of the cage every day, for a couple hours, for now. Once hes really comfortable with you, training will be easy.
If you take him out of the cage and put him on a stand he will be more likely to take food from you. They love nuts, berries, mine loves spaghetti raw just don’t give him very much. He loves to break it in pieces. Your problem may be you’re not taking him out of the cage.
