Chicken fettucini alfredo – what other ingredients?
are absolutely necessary besides ;
-chicken breast
-alfredo sauce
-fettucini noodles
I’m a college student, never made it before, need it to be as cheap as possible !
Other ingredients etc.. really necesary, besides the water for the noodles ?? lemon pepper ?
Any other tips you’d give to a novice cook making it ?

If you bought jarred alfredo sauce then you wouldn’t need anything else, especially if you are a tight budget.
It’s only if you make it from scratch that will cause you to use other ingredients. And please – don’t put lemon pepper in it.
Nope, that’s about it. Grill the chicken in a hot skillet or outsideon the grill, then slice and set on top of the pile of fettucine.
Here’s a classic fettucine alredo recipe where you make your own sauce. Parmesan Reggiano is not cheap, so you might want to use bottled, but follow the directions to combine the pasta and warmed sauce.
Real Fettucine Alredo
1 pound fettucine
8 Tbsp. butter
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup freshly grated Parmigginao-Reggiano cheese
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Freshly grated nutmeg
As the water for the pasta begins to boil, melt butter in large sauté pan over low heat. Add cream to butter and let it warm.
At the same time, salt the pasta water and cook until al dente, following package instructions. Drain pasta thoroughly, and mix with butter and cream in sauté pan over low heat. Add cheese and toss until sauce thickens slightly. Season with pepper and nutmeg.
Remove from heat and serve immediately with additional cheese on the side.
Serves 4-6

Salt and pepper and a nice bit of parmesan cheese
1/4 c. oil 1 lb. boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into 3/4 inch cubes 1/2 c. chopped green onions 2 cloves garlic, minced
Saute until chicken browns.
Stir in: 1 pkg. Pasta Prima Alfredo sauce 12 oz. sliced mushroom 1 (15 oz.) can tomatoes, drained and diced Salt and pepper to taste 1/4 c. chopped parsley 2 tbsp. dried basil
Cook 1 pound fettucini; add 1/2 cup fresh Parmesan to chicken. Serve over noodles.
I have added broccoli to it if you like that
no lemon pepper. i would follow the advice above. i recommend grilling the chicken and then slicing it on a diagonal before putting it with the fettuncine. put it on the side and then put a little bit of the extra sauce on top.
yum just add some garlic and salt and pepper to the sauce. thats all you need.
CHICKEN WITH FETTUCINI ALFREDO
1 lb. skinless, boned chicken breasts
2 tbsp. oil
Garlic powder
Milk
Butter
1 pkg. Pasta Prima Alfredo sauce mix
1/2 lb. fettucini
Cook fettucini until tender. Cut chicken in strips or cubes. Sprinkle chicken with garlic powder. Saute in oil for 5 minutes per side until cooked through. Mix Alfredo sauce mix according to package instructions. Mix drained fettucini with cooked chicken. Pour Alfredo sauce over mixture, toss and serve. Makes 3 generous servings.
i’d buy some classico pesto and add some of that
broccoli is good in alfredo
parmesean cheese
to make the alfredo sauce, get some parmesan cheese and some heavy whipping cream. it’s cheaper than already made alfredo sauce and tastes better.
boil the whipping cream, but not too much because you don’t want the film on the top of the cream. keep adding the parmesan cheese until it is thick. then add some parsley. then you can put the noodles in there.
