Can someone tell me the name of this fruit?

I’ve been searching the name of this fruit that grows in the tropics. It’s one of those that grows in bunches on a vine. They are round, like the size of a raw macadamia nut. It has a light beige color and the skin looks like snakeskin. The skin isn’t too tough and a bit waxy. You have to peel it to eat it, and the fruit itself is sour. I came across this when I was younger, but now I have no idea what it’s called. Can anyone tell me?

I think you are describing the LONGAN fruit.

fruit of rattan perhaps?

is it a noni fruit.?

i think its called the longan fruit

Longan, or lychee?

MMMMMMMM.

i don’t know

The decription sounds like a kiwi fruit grown in the phillipines but I am not sure. I cannot see your description to make sure.

i think you’re talking about Salak or Snakeskin Fruit (Salacca edulis). :)

not many people i know like it… heh

If I’m thinking right..its the Spanish (panamanian) Pixbae; pronounced Pifa fruit. It typically is taken off the trees, boiled, peeled and eaten. The inside looks like cheddar cheese kind of color and has a nut inside. Very Very Tasty =)

Actually is is well known in Indonesia and is called ‘ snake fruit ‘ in English , It tastes a bit like a pear. Some people say it acidic and taste foul. It is known as salacca there.
