yes, i don’t either and i always use margarine
Only if it is hard margarine and not the soft stuff in the tub (has a higher water content, will affect the cookie texture). Butter is always better but hard marg will do in a pinch!!
Yes you can. I never buy butter. When a recipe calls for butter I use margarine.
yes, but butter flavored crisco works better and adds better flavor
keep doin’ it good
my daughters think the sign of a good mom is that she bakes cookies
Check out this page for tips on butter versus margarine:
Personally I never use margarine…..I’m a purist. Really, though, in a lot of baked goods, whether you use margarine or butter, the difference in taste is barely discernible. What you do have to watch for however, is how the product bakes. Especially with cookies…..there may be more or less spread, depending on how much you cream the butter and sugars.
Never use “tub margarine” for baking. Always use the “stick margarine” if you are going to use it at all.
The best advantage margarine has over butter is price, since it’s relatively cheaper. Other than that, I like butter MUCH better.
The page I recommended will tell you more than you even want to know!
You can use the sticks of margarine, but make sure it is something that doesn’t have a lot of partially hydrogenated vegetable oil. Some margarines are nasty… one step away from the chemical structure of plastic.
Try the Smart Balance 50/50 butter blends. They work very well in recipes and effectively reduce some of the saturated fat found in regular butter.
Yeppers!! Go Ahead!!
You can, but it may not taste as good
yes but butter is better, and in a cookie I would not think you would taste the butter like it would be raw from the stick.
of course u can !
magarine is used in alot of baking an your goodies taste really good when u use it the right way.
but no worries….go right ahead..
HAPPY THANKSGIVING.
Of course you could. When I make cookies, I don’t usually use butter anyway. It won’t make a difference.
