Can I replace wine vinegar with regular vinegar?
I have a recipe that calls for wine vinegar, but I only have regular white vinegar to balsamic vinegar. What’s the difference?

Regular wine vinegar has a smoother taste than white vinegar. Depending on the recipe and how much you need to add, you might be okay.
get some wine vinigar. The taste difference will be subtle without it, but it will bother you. The fact that you asked it here tells me you will be unsatisfied with the results.
White and Wine Vinegar has different tastes, but I think you would be able to play it off so that nobody will know….
white vinegar has a totally different taste then red wine vinegar……I definatley wouldn’t do it. I mean, you clean glass with white vinegar! Nothing would happen to you, it’s still edible, but it’s not what you would usually put in food. Definatley run to the store & get the red wine vinegar. It might ruin your whole recipe.
If I understand you have balsamic and white vinegar, but no red wine vinegar. I would use the balsamic but not the white.
No,you shouldn’t . The recipe calls for “wine ” vinegar, and requires the flavour of wine. You can add a bit of REAL wine to white vinegar in the color specified. It’s actually better than store bought wine vinegar. What’s the difference with what.?Balsamic vinegar is a LOT different than white vinegar.Hope this helps.
