Can I make chocolate using cocoa powder instead of chocolate chips?
I don’t have any chocolate chips, so I was just hoping I could use the cocoa powder, and add it to any regular cheesecake recipe. I have looked online, but almost all of them have chocolate chips too.
Okay I meant to say “chocolate cheesecake,” I apologize!

Try it…won’t hurt! : )
Good Luck – sounds YUMMY right now!!
try this….for every once of chocolate use 3 tablespoons of butter…it works with cakes muffins cookies etc but I haven’t tried it on cheese cake yet…..good luck
sorry you have to go according to the recipe
Cocoa powder has no sugar in it like the chips.
I have made chocolate syrup by mixing cocoa and a little sugar with some hot milk. Experimentation is the way new recipes are made. Go for it.
Pure cocoa powder won’t substitute for chocolate chips because it has no sugar in it. Taste it. It is probably bitter. If you add sugar appropriately it will be good, even better than chocolate chips. I like cheesecake less sweet than choc chips make it anyway
Yes you can use the powder instead of the chips. If it’s Hershey’s cocoa powder just read and follow the instructions on the label.
Yes…you can…it will be Chocolate Cheescake….and no chips and nice and smooth…. just beat in about 1/3 cup of powdered chocolate into the batter mix….adjust the sugar if need be….with the amount of sugar already in the cheesecake the 1/3 cup should not affect the sweetness. If you taste it for sweetness…and you want it sweeter, add more sugar but only by a tablespoon at a time until it is right for you….Doesn’t need to be overly sweet….as it will take away from the chocolate flavor. If you want it darker and more chocolatey add in more chocolate by tablespoon….In small amounts like this you should be fine….
