Can eating peanuts lead to baby being allergic?

I am pretty much addicted to peanut M&Ms right now, I have been told that eating a lot of peanuts while pregnant may lead to my baby being allergic. How true is this? 13 weeks 3 days.

You only need to avoid peanuts if you have a family history of allergies to them. If not, enjoy!

No, not true!

I never heard that one before. I do know though that you aren’t supposed to give babies peanuts till they are 2 years old or honey. talk to your doc about it. If there isn’t an allergy in your family I wouldn’t be too worried about it.

No thats not true, if that were the case then what we ate in pregnancy would mean our babied would have allergies to it. You can keep on eating them!

It’s not true. Eating peanuts it really good for you, actually. However, babies shouldn’t be given peanuts until after their 2 years old or something like that.

Though it is true that peanuts cause many allergies, like asthma and eczema (extremely dry skin), I am not sure the effects are done in the womb. You could always go online and find out or ask your doctor (even though they wont always tell you these things) My son was almost three when I found out the cause of his eczema (we couldn’t even take him outside without covering his whole body because the air made his skin bleed) I learned from buying a book on Natural Cures and Medicines. It is hereditary, so if you or any family member suffer from dry skin or asthma I would question eating so many peanuts. Good Luck sweetie.

my daughter spent a miserable pregnancy couple of yrs ago as she loves peanut butter and the advice then was to avoid peanuts as it caused allergies however i believe now the advice is to eat them to prevent allergies.

I ate peanut butter at least twice a week throughout my pregnancy and occassionally ate regular peanuts too. My sons are almost five years old now with no allergies at all. As a matter of fact, they both love peanut butter!
