Are split peas beans or vegetables?
Ok, I know this might sound stupid but I was wondering this when I was cooking split peas today. Are split peas beans or vegetables? Because they are sold with the lentils and beans and they are hard just like beans before you cook them. But they are green. Just wanted to be clear on what I was eating…
and also, are lima beans also considered beans…they are green…hhhmmm

Yes, they are all in the bean family “Fabaceae” a.k.a. legume, pea or pulse family.
Split peas are poisonous. They will make your hair fall out. And don’t drive street sweeper after midnight, your head will fall off if you do
They’re not “animal”, or “mineral”, nor are they a “gas” (although they might cause it), so yes they are vegetables.
Legumes are vegetables. They are both, beans and vegetables. Good stuff, too!
You bet…Limas are beans, which also makes them vegetables.
