Anyone have info on large watermelon size (some were 30-40 inch) squash?
The seeds were passed to our family by a cousin from Calhoun Co, W.Va. and was known to us only as W.Va. squash. It was very large, pale green, shaped and looked like a watermelon but had orange inside. It stored all winter and was good tasting. The last of the seeds were lost several years ago when someone stole my last patch, I assume they thought they were getting melons. I have looked at numerous web sites, produce catalogues, etc, No one has info. The cousin has been deceased many years and I do not know how to contact any of her family. I would very much like to have some seeds or info on them. The seeds were passed to me by my mother, and I would like to continue the line of squash. Can anyone help?

Looks like a Delicata Heirloom variety with pale orange flesh marked with dark green stripes. Oblong fruits have sweet cream colored flesh.

It sounds like Bonbon squash – take a look at the picture in the link – there is more information and seeds!
