10 month old baby feeding problem?

Do you guys have problem feeding your 10 month old babies? My son used to eat really good but now that I’m giving him chunkier food, he hates it and cries when its eating time. He likes rice cereal and I give it to him at lunch or dinner whenever he refuses to eat like the beechnut chicken and stars, turkey rice, etc. Tonight I gave him some cheese ravioli’s cut-up, he ate some but not enough so I have to give him the rice cereal and fruits. I’m afraid that he’s not getting enough nutrition. What do you feed your kids??
I give him rice cereal at lunch or dinner and then in the morning he gets oat meal and pureed fruit. He still gets 4 (6 oz) milk but sometimes he doesn’t finish the bottle. He likes yogurt so I give him that for lunch as well or snacks. I tried giving him ‘people food’ the other day (chicken) but he only ate a few bites.

BTW, how much formula does your 10 month old drinks in a day?

my son is 10 months too. i feed him rice cereal sometimes mixed with juice. i feed him the 3rd foods from gerber and beach nut but i also give him some of the 2nd cuz he really likes them and i noticed that its not that big of a difference. but the beachnut turkey and rice i gave him the other day and he got mad so i have the same problem. if he doesnt like it then dont give it to him cuz u cant force him. as long as ur feeding him any kind of fruits and vegetables he’s getting nutrtion from that. and also try cutting up some regular food for him like chicken or rice or whatever ur having for dinner that night.. maybe some bread. also i give my son a bottle in the morning and night so he gets the nutrients from that to. hope this helps

If it is really the texture he objects to, try cutting it up smaller or even pureeing it (to a slightly thicker consistency than the cereal).
My youngest is 10 months old too, he nurses in first thing in the morning, then has fruit and yogurt for breakfast. For lunch, I usually feed him half a jar of one of the toddler foods (I prefer Heinz personally) and then has some of whatever his big brother is having (today it was grilled cheese, yesterday was pasta, the day before was french fries and green beans). After his nap, he nurses again, and then for dinner, he eats whatever we are having, and has half a serving of cereal and fruit for “dessert” (if he doesn’t like the “people food”, or if we are having dinner at our in-laws and they cook something inappropriate, I just give him a full serving of the cereal and fruit – yes, I use cereal as a backup plan too). He nurses again before bed.
As for the health aspects – as long as your son is still nursing or on formula, he is likely getting enough nutrition.
One thing to watch for: most of the rice cereals on the market contain added iron, and one serving is more than enough in a day, so if he is eating it more than once per day, try finding one that does not have the added iron.
